THE IDEA - 2019

In 2019, the business initiative focused on the planting, harvesting and marketing of fresh chili peppers for the national market was born, with special emphasis on the Tabasco variety.

The business activity was initially developed as a natural person under the leadership of Jairo Alonso Izquierdo Quintero, operating under the brand JAIQ FOODS, laying the technical, commercial and operational foundations of the project that would later evolve into a consolidated agro-industrial structure.

THE CHALLENGE - 2020

In 2020, the commercial stage was consolidated with the sale of fresh chili peppers from crops established in Bolívar, Valle del Cauca, strengthening the local production chain.

During this period, strategic relationships are established with companies that produce sauces and processed foods, who demand not only fresh chili peppers, but also processed raw materials, such as ground chili peppers with and without seeds.

Given this opportunity, the strategic decision was made to invest in equipment and infrastructure to start the company's first formal agro-industrial process: production of MASH and pulped chili peppers (without seeds).

That same year, the favorable sanitary concept was obtained from INVIMA, guaranteeing compliance with safety standards and marking the beginning of operations with an industrial focus.

GROWTH - 2021

In 2021, the commercial relationship with our clients was significantly strengthened, positioning us as the main supplier of chili peppers for the industry.

Based on sales projections and the sustained growth of the operation, the company name QUALITY TROPICAL FOODS SAS ZOMAC (QTF) is formally established, consolidating a business structure with an agro-industrial vision and a long-term focus.

During this year, contracts are formalized with farmers in the region to guarantee the continuous supply of fresh chili peppers, and direct jobs are generated, contributing to local economic development and the strengthening of the production chain in the ZOMAC zone.

At the same time, a competitive improvement strategy based on quality and safety standards is being implemented, obtaining HACCP certification, which consolidates our commitment to food safety and the standardization of processes.

CONSOLIDATION - 2022

In 2022, QTF consolidated its position as a strategic supplier of chili peppers for the food industry, expanding its portfolio by developing new varieties and customized formulations according to each client's technical specifications.

The HACCP certification is renewed, strengthening the quality control, traceability and safety systems throughout the entire operation.

The company expands its client portfolio nationwide and takes a key step towards internationalization by obtaining FDA registration (United States), formally enabling its entry into the export market.

QTF IN THE WORLD - 2023

In 2023, one of our national clients strengthened a strategic negotiation in the international market with one of its brands, which significantly boosted the demand for processed chili peppers and strengthened our international projection.

In response to this growth, we developed the roasted chili pepper line, through the design, construction and commissioning of specialized equipment, expanding our technical capacity and coverage in high value-added products for industrial clients.

That same year, the strategic alliance with AMAZING VALLEY was born, a Colombian-Panamanian company with extensive experience in the global chili market, consolidating a joint platform to expand QTF's international presence and strengthen our participation in global value chains.

OUR PROCESSING PLANT

Located in the heart of the Cauca Valley, our facility is designed exclusively to transform fresh chili peppers into high-performance industrial ingredients. We have separate areas for fruit reception, sorting, grinding, roasting, and packaging in food-grade presentations, as well as storage and direct container loading areas for export. Every process is designed to protect food safety and security: from raw material entry controls and sanitizable equipment and surfaces to batch traceability for each final product. The result is a functional, safe, and efficient plant that connects Colombian agriculture with the world's most demanding food industries.
